I am qualified as an integrative therapist, using various theories to address a variety of concerns, including:
Person Centred: Client Talking Therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Working together to resolve present day concerns.
Psychodynamic: Exploring childhood and deep-rooted issues. Solution Focused: A goal directed collaborative approach.
Transactional Analysis: A form of modern psychology that involves a set of practical conceptual tools designed to promote personal growth and change.
Transpersonal: This is a holistic practice concerned with the body, mind and spirit. Taking an holistic approach allows for viewing life and life experiences as part of the larger process of spiritual development, facilitating the growth process through a variety of means aimed at revealing the true self and inner authenticity of the client. The aim is to address mental, physical, emotional, social, creative, and intellectual needs, with an emphasis on the role of a healthy spirit in healing.
Existential: Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning, often cantering on you rather than on the symptom. This approach emphasizes your capacity to make rational choices and to develop to your maximum potential.
The existential approach stresses that:
All people have the capacity for self-awareness.
Acute Anxiety is part of the human condition.
What else is existential therapy recommended for? Psychological problems like substance abuse result from an inhibited ability to make authentic, meaningful, and self-directed choices about how to live, according to the existential approach.
Interventions often aim to increase self-awareness and self-understanding.
Integrative Therapy is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations.
I also amalgamate science with spirituality, identifying that we have the power of our internal strength, to change the structure of our brain.
You can eliminate old thought patterns and habits, and create new, by way of Neuroplasticity.
To define Holistic:
In Philosophy: Holistic is characterized by the belief that the parts of something are intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.
In the medical profession: Holistic is characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of an illness.
I am available for home visits and offices apt’s, also walk & talk (between April & Sept).
Walk & Talk Therapy is conducted outdoors; being surrounded by nature can be meditative and grounding.
Walking releases endorphin's through physical activity which can elevate your mood and spur more creative, deeper ways of thinking. Physical activity has also been shown to reduce levels of depression and anxiety and can help to prevent depressive symptoms.
You may find yourself anxious when confronting and talking about difficult issues in the traditional seated, face-to-face interaction. Walking in parallel with visual distractions may allow for easier engagement.
“When a person realises he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, "Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it's like to be me.”
